JESTA Foundation NPC
Empowering Communities. Uplifting Lives. Driving Sustainable Impact.
Who We Are
A Proud South African NPC
JESTA Foundation NPC is a newly established nonprofit organisation with a bold vision.
At JESTA Business and Community Empowerment Foundation NPC, we are a newly established nonprofit organisation with a bold vision: to uplift underdeveloped communities in Pretoria — starting in Rosslyn — through youth empowerment, women-led development, and small business support.
We aim to advance inclusive economic growth in Pretoria’s townships and semi-urban areas by bridging community empowerment with business development. While Rosslyn is our starting point, our vision extends to more communities across Pretoria — especially those grappling with high unemployment, inequality, and a growing informal economy.
As an NPC, we collaborate with government departments, corporate partners, and development organisations to drive real change. Our goal is not just to provide support — but to create systems and pathways that enable people to thrive long after our intervention.
Whether it’s a young person seeking workplace readiness or an informal trader needing compliance and structure, we’re here to walk the journey with them.
What We Do
We believe that transformation starts by addressing the root causes of poverty and disempowerment. That’s why our programmes focus on three strategic pillars:
Skills Development
We empower unemployed youth and women with training aligned to industry needs and job market trends.
Current focus areas include:
- Automotive repair and assembly
- Green energy and sustainable technologies
- Digital skills, coding, and basic IT literacy
Our training programmes are delivered through strategic partnerships with AIDC, SETAs, and other accredited providers — ensuring high-quality, outcome-driven education.
Enterprise Support
Township entrepreneurs are often left behind due to lack of formal business knowledge and market access.
We help them:
- Register and become tax compliant as a formal NPC or business
- Improve business planning and operations
- Access funding, mentorship, and support tools
- Connect with large supply chains, especially in the automotive and manufacturing sectors
Whether they’re selling from a spaza shop or servicing car parts — we help them grow, scale, and succeed.
Community Resilience
Our third pillar focuses on creating stable, healthy communities — because business cannot thrive in broken environments.
Our community projects include:
- Nutrition and food garden programmes
- Mental health and psychosocial support groups
- Youth leadership and mentorship development
- Green economy and environmental awareness campaigns
We see resilience as the foundation for long-term economic empowerment.
Why Our Work Matters as an NPC
The South African Landscape:
Over 270,000 NPCs operate in South Africa — but most face funding, compliance, and sustainability challenges
Roughly 3.7 million people are food insecure
Over 1 million South Africans are employed by NGOs
More than 16 million people rely on nonprofit services
Yet many communities still go without essential support or business inclusion. This is where JESTA Foundation NPC steps in — not as charity, but as a development bridge between corporates, government, and grassroots needs.
Our work fills the gap between potential and opportunity, unlocking the power of community-driven growth.
Where We Work Across Pretoria
While rooted in Rosslyn, our footprint as an NPC is expanding across Pretoria.
We follow the needs of the community — and adapt our services where the impact will be greatest.
